Tammy F. Margeson, MSMHC, LCAS, LCMHC,CCS

Outpatient Therapist, Trainer, Consultant, Certified Clinical Supervisor. NC Certified First Examiner for Involuntary Commitments.

I am a therapist, mentor, supervisor, consultant, and trainer. Before I learned all of those skills, I was first someone's daughter, sister, whife, and mother.  I have navigated many of the same life challenges that bring clients to my office.  Through all of life's ups and downs I found strength in relationships, spirituality, and learning.  Whatever path you are on, you have choices!

"If you could do it all again, what would you change?"

Not one single decision good or bad. All of my choices, and all of life's trials brought me to a place of healing and strength. If I were to go back and change the smallest detail I may not be the person I am today.

Now is the time for you to choose where life's path will take you. How can you transform? What are your goals? Make an appointment today. What is holding you back? You deserve to be happy, and that starts with loving and accepting yourself.

Disappointment and pain come from a place of expectations.

My Qualifications – Post graduate degree Walden University in Minneapolis Minnesota, with a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling. My credentials include; Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS) # 20075, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) #10717, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) # 20607, and I have been working as a mental health and substance abuse counselor since 2011.

Counseling Background – Counseling services provided to children, adolescents, and adults whose challenges range from stage of life stress, mental health (depression, bipolar, anxiety, post traumatic stress, ect), and substance abuse and/or dependence. Interventions are based upon theories including; brief solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and reality therapy. Those techniques can include; play and art therapy for children and adults, behavioral techniques, and motivational interviewing to name a few.

Session Fees and Length of Service –Sessions are 35-45 min for a child and 45min- 1 hr in length for an adult. Individuals receiving services can pay for the service using their insurance or self-pay. Insurance reimbursement is accepted as full payment for services. A sliding scale fee in the mutually agreed upon amount of between 50-100 dollars per 1 hour session (based on verifiable income) will be offered for those individuals who are self-pay. Methods of payment accepted are cash, money order, PayPal invoice, credit/debit card, electronic funds transfer, and certified check. Individuals using their insurance, will have their claims submitted directly to their insurance company.

Use of Diagnosis--Some health insurance companies will reimburse clients for counseling services and some will not. In addition, most will require that a diagnosis of a mental-health condition and indicate that you must have an “illness” before they will agree to reimburse for services provided. Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement. If a qualifying diagnosis is appropriate in your case, I will inform you of the diagnosis before we submit the diagnosis to the health insurance company. Any diagnosis made will become part of your permanent insurance records.

Confidentiality--All of our communication becomes part of the clinical record, which is accessible to you upon request. I will keep confidential anything you say as part of our counseling relationship, with the following exceptions: (a) you direct me in writing to disclose information to someone else, (b) it is determined you are a danger to yourself or others (including child or elder abuse), or (c) I am ordered by a court to disclose information.

Complaints --Although clients are encouraged to discuss any concerns with me, you may file a complaint against me with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, whose address and contact information can be found below, should you feel I am in violation of any of these codes of ethics.
